Costa Rican Food

One of the greatest ways to experience Costa Rica is through its rich traditional cuisine. Fresh seafood and wild plants are harvested regularly and make for great tasting and healthy meals. If you're considering moving to Costa Rica, a better-tasting and more natural diet is in order!

Costa Rican food is a combination of many meals you are already familiar with. It combines traditional elements of foods from Africa, Italy, France, China, and Spain. Foods are locally flavored with traditional Costa Rican grains such as rice, corn, and beans; spices like garlic, saffron, and parsley; and sauces including Soy and Lizano. There are 32 restaurants and bars in the Village of Ojochal to choose from. Ranging from local fare to NY Pizza, French, German, Italian, FRESH Seafood and much more.

Tipping in Costa Rican restaurants is not necessary since a 10% service charge is automatically added to your bill. But if you had exceptional service, it isn't unheard of for guests to leave a few dollars for the waiter.
