Why Are The Roads So Bumpy?

It is important to remember that part of what makes Costa Rica so beautiful a country and so rich a travelling experience is the fact that it is so undeveloped. In the U.S. and most of North America citizens are used to driving on paved roads in most places. With such a high volume of traffic paved roads are necessary to allow for higher speeds and to avoid traffic jams. In Costa Rica there is decidedly a lot less traffic. This seclusion, the pure natural environment without the hustle and bustle of developed North American life, is what makes Costa Rica so great. Why would anyone want to pave over that?

The Pan-American Highway which runs directly in front of Beach Club Costa Rica is completely paved and smooth. Most of the off shoot roads to smaller less populated locations are still dirt roads that as the popularity increases will most likely be paved.
