Can You Fish In Costa Rica?

Costa Rica is one of the best sports fishing locations in the world. From deep sea fishing for marlin, swordfish, tuna and the like to inland waters with red snapper, grouper, and Mahi Mahi. Costa Rica is celebrated for its marine life, most famously for its marlin and sailfish that reside in the deep waters offshore.

Although Costa Rica lacks large coral reefs, some reefs can in fact be found offshore of Cahuita on the Caribbean, and Bahia Ballena on the Central Pacific shore.
